Math

  • The iThinkSmart curriculum for Elementary math consists of a multitude of math concepts that the student can acquire. These concepts include: 
    • Quantity – Realizing the amount, measure or number of a material. 
    • Number recognition- Building memory and mental math skills, which builds a strong foundation for the recognition of numbers.
    • Number meaning- Gaining a stronger understanding of Cardinal vs. Ordinal numbers and decreasing the confusion between numbers involved in different categories. 
    • Operations- understanding the basic mathematical process which includes, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, creating a function between inputs and outputs. 
  • The iThinkSmart elementary math curriculum accommodates an extensive range of the five basic math strands. The five basic math strands include: 
    • Number Sense and Operations
    • Algebra
    • Geometry and Spatial Sense
    • Measurement
    • Data Analysis and Probability

Reading

  •  The iThinkSmart curriculum for Language Arts consists of a multitude of reading concepts that the student can acquire from Kindergarten to 12th Grade are:
    • Analyzing the passage given by annotating and the usage of context clues. 
    • Broadening the students’ vocabulary through the usage of complex words.
    • Students will be able to summarize, analyze, and comprehend along with grasping the key concept of the passage. 
    • In early onset reading curriculum, the student will have a plot chart which includes, exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. This will help the student expand their knowledge to break down the storyline of the passage. 
    • The student will be able to realize the difference between fiction and nonfiction passages, along with their questions. 

Writing: 

  • The iThinkSmart curriculum for elementary writing consists of a multitude of writing concepts that the student can acquire. These concepts include:
  • Lower Elementary: Introduction of grammar, by using complete sentences, learning capitalization, apostrophes, singular/plural nouns and pronouns, and understanding the usage of singular possessives. 
  • Upper Elementary: Building on top of curriculum learned in lower elementary, the student will learn more complex grammar which includes, parts of speech, punctuation, past/present tense, the different types of sentences. The student will also extend their knowledge on singular and plural possessives.

Social Studies
